Hi Pilar, welcome to squidfish <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Are you from Australia or overseas? I know that in the School of Aquaculture at the University of Tasmania they do some research on squid, including gonad studies, but not octopus (as far as I know). Contacting them might be a good place to start, the names of some of the researchers are C.G. Carter and Natalie Moltschaniwskyj.
I don't know these people but a friend of mine did his undergraduate degree in the School of Aquaculture and pointed me in this direction.
Good luck
