i went to flinders on saturday. very few people around. and also very few squid were caught. one guy said he got a little squid. i did not hear of anyone else catching squid.
i was targeting leatherjackets and got quite a few. but you needed to use a very small hook. also i learned that paternoster rigs are best here because they keep your bait above the thick weed on the seabed. there was lots of small fish that would strip your bait in seconds if you did not get a hit from a "non-tiny" fish.
