2019 Rhode Island Squid Report

Good eye.  The first two anchor points were .6 miles from shore, but in 30-35 feet.  It looks like they drifted after that in shallower water.

 

As for squid inside the harbor of refuge, or in point judith pond, I've never seen it but old timers say they used to get them over by the commercial docks.  I'd love it if I could fish off the back of my boat in the marina.  I'd never have a down day. 

 

It's killing me sitting at the dock.  But I'm still waiting on parts to come back from the part doctors.  Sigh.

 

At least they are in and relatively easy to find.

 

The spring before last, we did well right off the commercial docks. Camped at Fisherman's Memorial for four nights. The two of us caught exactly 25 each night from dark until 11. In addition, we also caught 25 in the middle of one day. Weird getting the exact same number each session. Last year, we tried a few times w/o success.
