I Just came back from Croatia I was there for 3 months on holiday. I have to say the fishing was very disappointing in Croatia which was a shame when you consider how beautiful the country and the sea is there. I spent a large part of me time in Lastovo which is a national park. As an Australian with parents who are Croatian I can honestly say that the fishing in Croatia was very average both in the boat and on the land. Apart from having some success when spear fishing and catching octopus by hand when snorkeling, I was very unhappy with the state of the fishing while I was there. The sea has been raped over time by nets and long lines. I went to many local fish markets in the large cities and most of the fresh fish are from farms! When you consider that I live in Melbourne which has 4.5 million people and I can go fishing in Port Phillip Bay and always catch something and then Croatia with 4.2 million people and struggle to catch something, it is very sad for such a beautiful country. I guess it shows you how important it is to have a good government who care for the future of a country and its natural resources. This is something that Croatia definately does not have..............
To top it off, they wanted $900 kuna for a fishing licence for one month when all I had was a single fishing rod so I could teach my son how to fish. That is criminal.

Hello here is Chris from Germany
Look what i caught while fishing with sardine as bait near Blitvenica SO of the kornati nat. park.
My target was catching red porgy on a 300ft deep underwater mountain.
So it was an accident .
Looks like Loligo forbesi because the flames on the skin.
I am very proud and happy about my first <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/images2.jpg' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='q:' />
Another day on the same place i was happy with an octopus.
Start fishing again there in Oktober with squid lures.
