I agree with the Doc 100%. Putting in the time and paying your dues on the water is not only the best way to catch fish but its the only way to develop the appreciation for the sport that makes it so rewarding when you have that special trip. Personally, I don't have the luxury of picking which days I go so I go when I can and enjoy it when I do.
