hey guys
Fished Queenscliff peir two night this week (wed&thurs) and the situation down thier isnt much chop
The first night was squidless and the second was fustrating with lots of squid and a feww cuttlefish in the water but no bites managed three small to med squid all night. There were also squid present in the boat harbour at Queenscliff but again they were very shy on the bite. However on angler did entice some interest in the squid using a grey and bronze coloured fresh water lure ( I dunno go figure )
Every time he put this lure in front of the squid they attacked it with vigour but failed to hook up, I at this stage could not believe my eyes as I had tried every lure and jig known to man but they would just swim away, Along come this guy with a trout lure and they were chasing it like their was no tomorrow, if he managed to hook up he would have cleaned up
Just goes to show you how much colour can make a difference when squid fishing
Hope to go again next week so stay tuned
