where should i go for xmas holiday fishing/squiding?

got some time off for xmas, and id like to head down to the coast for some fishing, just the girlfriend and myself.

planning to head down from the 7th to 11th january, somewhere from geelong to apollo bay? where has been good for squidding lately? since thats my GF's target. even a dab of surf fishing would be nice too.

we plan on camping, so somewhere not too far from a caravan park, but we can drive.



Also, since squidding isnt my strong point, i havent done it much myself, any recommendations? tackle, rods or poles? iv got a variety of jigs but where they are is another matter, so i might just go buy some new ones.

well, searching for camping spots or caravan parks is driving me nuts, so if anyone can suggest a place to stay too?? we're now thinking of heading over to rye or rosebud area, just cant find anything on the net for camping.

head to sorrento, then from there you have portsea and flinders.

big squid, cuttlefish and lots of fish also.
