Went to Flinders 4th Jan. Southerly blowing, all our baited jigs were blowing back onto the jetty as a result so we switched to imitation jigs for a flick.
Fished 5:30am till 10:30am on a run in tide. No action until just after the turn of the tide and then we got 5 in total. No monsters but all a decent size. All were taken on cheap $2 pink jigs. Nothing touched the expensive jigs, even in the same color.
The guy near us was using baits the whole time, always casting them back into position due to the wind. He did not land a thing while we were there, his baits were near where we were casting as well. It is the second time I have been to flinders that imitations have out fished baits.
Cheers,
