Some tips for making your own jigs.
1. Use only stainless wire and hooks.
2. When using Mylar tubing you must coat with WaTeR PrOoF Epoxy. Just any cheap epoxy will get milky in water.
3. When using vinyl tape, heat seal the ends with a light bulb. Prevents unwrapping.
4. Get as creative as you want but remember there just squid not art critics and some of the best jigs are the most basic.
The most important thing about your jig is Weight, Diameter , then Color. Your jigs should also be smooth and easy for the squid to grab onto.
