To be King you have to overthrow the present one and Im pretty heavy LOL

if your looking at pound for pound you have a lot of catching up to do Marco I got at least 20 years on ya he he he You might catch a few bigguns but you still have to learn a lot from the master Luke Skywalker

By the amount of reports I have heard/read it would seem that the bay is awash with squid

It looks like there wasnt a lull in the squid this year as the size and bag limits have been beyond expectations for this time of the year although the peirs have been slow at times and the size has been smaller, boaties are reporting squid to up to a kilo in very good numbers, with the bebining of the squid season only a few months away it should be a good year for we squidders

Dont know about the squid at Mordy but from the reports I have read the gars are in very good numbers right around the bay with most piers producing some good sized gars with Mordy Frankston Mornington and Mt Martha all producing good bags

Im off to Geelong when weather permits as the area is said to be firing well for the mini marlins........

Hi All,

The link is up and Yesterday I fished off Mt Martha PPB and the fishing was not great but worth the effort. The best colour Jig was Pink with a pearl belly and in a size 2.5....Stay tuned as the Fishing is only getting better.

Cheers

hey paul

good to see someone is catching good fish. i havent had much tim elately. though i have been giving the flounder a bit of a hard time around seaford. got a couple, though i think i have more of a taste for gar than flounder.

i would try and fish the bay more, but i feel that the lack of a boat makes it hard to consistently catch good fish. and none of the piers that i frequent are very productive, at least not when i'm there.

i've looked around your site, and i must say some of the trips sound like a mighty fine idea. i might have to save up some cash and see if i cant get myself on one.

cheers

Hi Jason,

Went out fishing this afternoon and did quite well. We got our bag of Squid but we had to work hard, best Jig was a red yo zuri in a size 2.0.

There are some great land base platforms in the Morningoton area. Areas worh are look are Strachans Road: good for Snapper, Squid and Whiting and in Mount Martha areas such as Hearn, and Bradford roads are the best bet.

Good luck with the flounder and the Gar. The best time for these is when there is no moon, who know you may even come accorss a Squid !!!

Tight Lines and I hope one day to see you on one of my Tours.

Cheers

Took the Kayak out for a run yesterday arvo....about 4.30.

Very still, just light northerly and my favourite spot to myself. Worked the shallow inshore reefs for 3 good size calamari...used a goldy brown jig. Didnt change colour but was going to a pink one....what the heck. No need when you are getting a few. Still perfecting my technique from the kayak.

Mainly drifting with the current. As the sun started to go down i had 2 in the bag. Very pretty sunset and made me think what a great fishery we have.

Cheers

Hi all

Fished my favourite spot for 3 squid. 2 were very big. in fact, my biggest to date at close to 2kgs each. Got a mighty big shot of ink too!

Cheeky buggers.

Also had a nice flathead attack my jig...no hook up though.

Cheers
