I once fished with a guy who wrote for a geelong fishing magazine
who had absoultey every jig you can think of including the garfish jig This was about two years ago and he said he had been sent the jig to try it out and it was very very affective and out fish the yo-zuri 10:1 it was just leathal I have tried to find them also and have looked high and low but cant seem to find them if anyone knows I loved to also Wally <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blueboxbullet.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blueboxbullet.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blueboxbullet.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I bought a couple of these garfish-looking squid jigs about 7 years ago, the first time they showed up at the tackle shops. Have to admit they were not much good at all - not a touch or a sniff from the squids. When I changed over to the 'normal' Yozuri-type jigs at the same occasions, the bites came on.
Just as well that I eventually got rid of my garfish jigs by snagging them....

The important thing to remember with any lure/jig is this: is it something that is regularly seen and eaten by your target.
People who say Garfish lures are just plain bad are probably using them where garfish are'nt a staple diet of squid. Off course the reverse is true - places with garfish around will probably be better for garfish lures. Prawn jigs work so well because prawns are common food for saltwater fauna everywhere. Best bet is, look at what's hanging around your local fishing spot - whether it's potty mullet, prawns or garfish and use an appropriate jig. Harvey

<img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> I live in S.A. and saw these jigs the other day at a Got One shop. The shop staff said they have not had much luck with them. but I agree with the above reply. Use the local food source avaliable for the squid <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blueboxbullet.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':ink' /> <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blueboxbullet.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':ink' /> <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blueboxbullet.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':ink' /> <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blueboxbullet.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blueboxbullet.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
