Yes, thats right what you say ! To much nets and lines everywhere. The lokal fisherman dont care about the recources of the sea. <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> They try to kill all.... to get a little wealth. They think of nothing but self, thats a part of the croatian mindset. <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/1407561139_0178cfe6ea_o.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':pirate:' /> Maybe a result of the war. The price for the licence is really high. Me, i buy the big game licence to. Together it kost 2400 kuna one month. I am down fishing that area, deep sea 3-4 month every summer just for fun. <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/fishing.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':rod:' /> Hunting for bottomfish like porgys, john dory, scorpionfish, grouper, conger, scads , mackerel and more. You understand the croatian names: pagar, kantar, okan, sampjer(kovac), scrpina, kirnja, ugure. Sharun, lokarda and bugwa for bait....... I´m not unhappy , was really lucky <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/clover.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':clover:' /> there the last 6 years. The fishing-system in the adriatic is very special. <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/fishie.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':fishie:' /> Only very few angler understand how and where to fish with rod and reel. Also gamefish like tuna and broadbill is caught every year. If you come to croatia again, visit me ! I will show you something. <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> TL from south-west germany to australia Chris [/quote] Hi all, it is true that local fishermans are devastating the sea but that's only becouse they can. Government and our laws allows that. I am watching every day what they are doing with the sea and fish, it's horor true horor belive me. I am running local fishing equipment store and i am trying to sugest something to them but there is no use, it's so sadly. Now is the squid season and they already catch 1500 kilos in one night with big nets. You have to cry when you hear something like that.

I also love to dive and here are few pics of one day spearfishing for octopusy. Largest sguid 1.4kg and largest octopusy 3.5kg.        Â

Sheksare  very impressive the big squid :thumbsup2:  my biggest here in Dalmatia was less than 1 kilo  my season starts in July and I am very hot :boat:  will try in greater depth on the day time now  totanj ( todarodes sagittatus ) had caught last year over a 120 m  under water mountain Â

Thanks.
I have tried to place bigger pics but for some reason it's not allowing me to see real size picture. My family bought a house on island few days ago and we are looking for smaller boat so I will be able to go deep fishing soon. My season starts in August,September because I can't go for vacation in hotest summer. Must say I have spend a lot of money on some decent equipment but it looks like I will have to spend more I was forced to buy Daiwa rod because Yamashita Naori 2 was only "very soft" model available in store here. I like 2.5-3.5 Egi's so it was to soft for longer casting and deep water. Can't wait for summer to over so I can finally go and enjoy my vacation. In a meanwhile I will try to come up with some new ideas how to cast better and use combination egi's etc. Must say I like the Forum a lot and I hope I will learn more from much better hunters here :th

It will take some time till the boat comes but the main thing is it will be one day.
What a gorgeous color. Such a beauty. Can't wait to bring one up from the deep. :th

I think it was .....http://www.thecephalopodpage.org/Lforbesi.php
Flamed- or Veined Squid.  The deep-sea squid Todarodes Sagittatus I have caught last year was also stained very gorgeous. Bright red-orange.      Â

Woow. Gorgeous.
I was looking today about licence for a boat. I will have to sort that so I can go on open see where is not so huge competition like on shore. What is the size of egi you prefer on deep fishing?

Hi there. We're heading to Dubrovnik next week & staying on a yacht for 7 days and my boy said he'd like to catch a squid. Are there any areas we could try which would give us a chance of catching one?
 Thanks in advance  Lee |
