breaden.net have some boat rods, but aside from a couple of sub 5ft baitcasters they are still around 7 foot.

Thanks, have no problem with useing 7ft rods as I have a few that I use on the boat- even a bit longer. Will have a search around for prices for the Breadon rods, the rods I had been seeing have been 8ft plus which would be a bit too long for the boat!

Delta, I use a kslabo 7"7' rod off the boat, I also sell these rods along with many other good egi rods however I find these the best on the boat. Pm me if you are interested in more info, I can also arrange pick up so you won't have to pay postage.

i agree 8 foot too long for a boat. typically japanese hire big charter boats so an 8 foot rod will not be a problem. the reason an eging rod is to long and light is so that you can feel a touch and its light enough not to pull the jigs barbs through the squid. id go for a good 7 foot rod plenty of them. i uses the yamashits 7.6 foot rod and its great. i swear by it. although i like the breaden rods and i think that will be my next squid rod...
anyone using the breaden ?? how is it??

Shimano Sephia rod C14 have a 7 footer i think. The yamashita Naory comes in a 7 foot model and it's for small jigs, but all the yamashitas aren't designed with more than PE0.8 in mind.

Do yourself a favour install google chrome and you auto translate all the japanese sites, get all the info you can through them.
Kim the only people i know that use them are the guys from fishing fever. The same one Peter sells.
My next rod is a Graphite leader, 8'6" or 8'8". I'll probably end up with a Breaden heavy stick for the bigger jigs.

Breaden make a nice 7" boat squid rod. The model is swg-lc70 weight is aprox 120g, pe0.6-1 and can handle up to a super deep 4.0 egimaru. Very nice rod, also 2 pce, breaks from the handle!

gladiator, i hear rumours the megabass ones werent as good as they could be, and probably the lower range shimano and daiwa rods can be iffy.
