Please post any reports of squid being taken from the canal, Hyannis, C.C. bay, or Chatham.

If you can get a boat out of Dennis or Falmouth, get yourself over to Colliers Ledge. The squid run is screaming hot. I got enough in under 2 hours to fill the bait freezer for the entire season, including some really big 'trolling squid' for tuna and shark, but definitely enough for an entire season of bottom fishing also.
Â
If you like scup (annoying to me when after squid), just wait for the tide change and you'll have all you need of them also.
Â
For the squid, I found them in the 'fleet' in 53 degree water and around 25 feet where there was a decent pick but then the scup came so I moved away. I found my own spot about 1/2 mile away, 55 degree water and 12-17 feet depth was the sweet spot.
Â
If anybody needs specifics just shoot me a separate e-mail. BTW - be prepared to switch sizes on you squid jigs, I started large and got the big boys then the bite drop so I switch to the really small jigs and then it was lights out on everything...
Â
Also, Haddock remains hot on both sides of Stellwagen bank. Flounder in Boston Harbor, Deer Island, Peddocks, etc. is still dismal....need the water temps up more...

Fresh calamari for dinner tonight... Â
