I only started to catch squid for kingys.. but now i am find it very relaxing to catch squid
anyways i am planning to buy some egi gear gear could someone help me out.
Nuovo Calamaretti Series in particular 792ML-SJ

there are a few of the guys in the egi club up here in brisbane who have calamaretti's.
i've had a play with them and now have one on the way. mine will be the 792 ml 'prototype' i will put a 2500 stella on it running 8lb braid
it took me a while to justify the cost, but i think that they are worth it.
one of our members received an 'egi force' for winning the overall club champion,
it is a very nice rod to use, and if you didn't want to spend the extra for the olympic, it would be a good choice.
have a chat with peter at 'fishonpro'. i've ordered from him in the past, and can't fault the service.

Ive got a Egi force type C and it is a very nice light rod that can take some stick. It handes jigs from 3.5 and down. Great rods i recoment it to anyone thats fished for all sizes of squid.

They are good rods. They do manufacture in China so be careful which rods you pay for. The Japanese versions are as expected much more expensive.

Olympic / GraphiteLeader is one of the fewer companies that still have some of their rods made in Japan. The quality of the rods are quite respectable, afterall Olympic manufactures shafts for Golf Clubs. I had several Olympic's rods, including Blanco, Calamaretti Nuovo, Calamaretti Rosso. Eging with them had been quite enjoyable. I did have 1 or 2 broken as well.
To be honest, not all things made in China are bad or not all goods made in Japan are good either. 13readen and Shimano have their rods made in China, but I would say Shimano had maintained quite a good reputation for its rods. I have 2 eging reels, Shimano Sephia CI4, Daiwa Exists and Daiwa Certate 2500 with 2506 RCS Shallow Spool. I had been using the Sephia CI4 since it was launch and there wasn't any problem with it at all. With my 2 Daiwas, the Exists had a busted anti-reverse that the agents can't solve, the Certate had a busted main gear after approximately 120hrs of use. (When we get out to field test our jigs its usually intense eging for a period of a week). All of them Made in Japan ... its just that Daiwa doesn't seem to be the Daiwa it used to be ...

Totally agree with what Black water says, just trying to make buyer beware because there is a big variance in the price. If you look at their catalogue when you flip it over and start at the back with the Chinese made products they are much cheaper. Don't want anyone paying too much.
