going out soon, being a commercial squider my lights cant legally be lite up with in a 1/4 mile of town but thats surface or over head light, they didnt say nothing about lights under water, go to walmart and check out the $8 12volt under water light, p.s. dont be afraid to buy a little bait "herring" and chunk it up 6-10 pieces once you got a few bites throw couple chunks out keep them around how to figure out tide little rope and empty bottle throw out and over time it will go one way and so will squid small 12 volt under water light and small car battery in a bucket might get you a little more catch time when dock lights go out ???

Instead of cutting up the bait you should try taking the whole herring and tie 4lbs test fishing line by the tail and dangle each one all around the boat at different depths between (5-15 feet) like X-mas tree ornaments.
