I am never 100% sure when to make my first attempt in green port, but I am look forward to it. I usually use large jigs and a bright white spot light, but this year I am going to be using 2.0 or 1.8 inch jigs and a 4ft green under water light I built in the off season if anyone has an comments to improve my style of fishing I would appreciate the feedback.

My wife and I went to Greenport Pier beside Ferry port for squid fishing. There were about 20 people there for squid fishing, but nobody except one guy could get any squid. He got four squids by himeself. He has two fishing poles and it seemed that he usde the similar squid jig.
Could you please tell me where is the best location where we can catch squid this year in Long Island, New York.
