Hi Guys
After reading a lot of the posts i can see that we dont have nearly as much interest in catching squid here in south africa as some other parts of the world, it is probable because we dont have many locations where you can catch them from the shore.
Other than jigs we dont see any real tackle that is made or sold specifically for squid fishing.
Could you guys give me some info on what sort of action length you would recommend for a general purpose rod to use from the shore and from a boat. I read somewhere that the purpose made rods have a stiffer tip and a lighter action closer to the butt, ive also seen some mention of bassing rods been used? Do these rods have a similar action?
