Anybody been out trying?

No me... Hey Janz, do you know which of the party boats still go out (for Tog, or Cod?)?
03-12-2013, 05:08 AM
These boats fish out of Pt Judith RI thru the winter weather permitting.
http://francesfleet.com/wordpress/ http://www.sevenbs.com/newsletters.html This one fishes out of fall river ma but every time I call there seems to be a language barrier and I don't really get the info I want. http://www.nicedaytoo.com/report.html Fished with both RI boats and came back satisfied when I go out on either boat. My freezer is full with cod, scup, and black sea bass. The only thing I'm a little shy on is squid, so thinking tonight or tomorrow night as it will warm up a bit. BTW after eating squid from different areas I like the smaller 4-6" squid for eating. They are so much more tender and the bigger they are the more tough, chewy, or rubbery, they are. So far the best squid I have eaten was from Salem MA. Hope this helps. JANZ

I agree the best squid I have ever eaten was this past weekend and they were from Jamestown, all 6 inch or less. If it is like it 2 weeks ago it would be easy to fill a bucket if you stayed there all night.

That's sorta what I was wondering if its still like 2 weeks ago.

Jamestown is pretty dry...I was there a couple of times last week and each time I catch less and less. I was there 3hrs last Sat. night and only caught 10 squids. I drove by GI, there were alot of people there but did stop (no parking space) to see if anyone was catching anything.

I agree with you guys that small squids are good eating but big one are more fun the catch specially when you are catching 2 or 3 them at a time.

Thanks for the update, ya your right about the 2 or 3 at a time
big ones are quite the challenge=fun.
