Squidding Saturday night

A bit of a late report. Got to go out on Saturday night for a squid fish to test out my new lox egi rod and we did very well all up we got 11 squid and 1 octopus

Nice catch ! What jig and technique were u using ? Just got a new set up myself hope I land a few like that first time out. Good stuff

Thanks mate. The jig I was using was a yamashita live in size 2.5. As for the technique I use is simply let the jig sink to the bottom then give it a couple of jerks as fishing with a soft plastic. What gear are you using? There is also a useful dvd called squid tactics I've learned so much from it and it improved my catch. Here is a link of the dvd on ebay definitely worth a watch or 2.

nice bag you've got there slayer. I have no luck with them this year for some reason my tried and tested spot doesn't produce that much.

 

Hope my luck will change eventually.

Sweet, the day u stop learning is the day u die ! My new set up is a Sephia 7.6 light matched with a shimano areonos 2500 with 8lbd power pro braid and I mostly use yamas any where from 1.8 to 3.0 depending on tide and location! Just had a new addition to the family so finding it a bit hard to get out for a flick at the moment !!

Congrats mate. Do you mainly fish land based? Where abouts are you located maybe we can go for a fish one day

Thanks ! Yeah do most of my squidin from land live in the east and fish Between coogee and lapa mostly !

What about yourself where do u normally head ? Once things settle at home a bit I will def be keen to go for a flick !
