hi all, drew these up quicly this morning and wondering which is better, i have been meaning to sit more then one jig under a float for a while now and am keen to see the best way. maybe in the design with the jigs in line, u could run a baited kig on the bottom and have a prawn style or other jig on the top hanging????
Remember you cant keep all of the squid happy all of the time, only some of the squid some of the time...
hey all, i know there already has been a thread on this but i would like it if members and guests could share their rigs they use for calamari, cuttlefish etc. I ask this cos there pullin in some beuties at portsea pier on baited jigs and i would like to know how to rig up one of these as i have only ever used imitation jigs.
Diagrams would be appreciated!! <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':ink' />
By the way i jus use a 2.5-3.5 jig attached to a snap swivel and a small running sinker..........
appreaciate the feedback guys <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/xyxthumbs.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
I know this post is really late, but i've just been thinking about putting 2 jigs on the one line for the past 3 weeks now, has anyone had any luck doing this? It's like what Paulus had except no float or sinker, just the jigs. Does anyone think it would cause problem ie tangles when casting and retrieving? My brother thinks it might tangle in the main line. I want to try it for mornington pier around first week of spring to see what it catches. If you have any advice I'd appreciate it. <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Hey Paulus if you're still around how did those rigs go? I was posting a pic but i don't have ifran view and when i tried downloading it i caught a virus <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':th' />
It basically looks like a patternoser but instead of sinker i'll have a jig. and another jig higher up.
so long as it is only 2 jigs then i guess the tangles should not be too bad. just make sure the "dropper" length is quite short (ie the line to the top jig). also, the dropper line should be fairly stiff, so try using heavier line. The thinner the line is, the more likely it will tangle i think.
