I fished Ika at Oshima island in this GW.

In Japan Eging is very popular.

Aori Ika is very good for eat.

Ive gathered that ika is squid, and egi is jigging....but what is the in this GW??

bbs is actually english - "bulletin board service". it is quite common on japanese fishing websites. its sort of like a chat board.

To answer your question "what is GW?" it means Golden Week which are holidays at the beginning of May, and depending on how they fall each year can make up about a week off for many Japanese.

Welcome to the forums. I have seen your site previously. It seems to have been there for well over 5 years now?



It would be be appreciated if you could help us to identify some other popular squid spots in japan. I have tried reading through fishing sites in japanese but its a bit hard going when I don't speak the language!



I look forward to seeing the photos of the Jibiki-ami.



I have done a fair bit of fly fishing in New Zealand for trout. Its a great spot.
