G,day All, I went to Davies Bay yesterday got 1 leatherjacket 15 cm and 1 a bit smaller. diving conditions were perfect with good visibility and this probably explains why fish were so hard to find. finished up at Mt Martha, a few whiting around but cant get close enough, did not see any squid. I am going out again friday, not sure where yet.

Hi Glen, no garfish at Mt Martha, I did see a few schools of 10-15 garfish at fishies beach boat ramp tuesday.

there was alot of whiting at Mt Martha I am thinking of diving there again soon (today!!) to note where they hang around then use berley, rod and reel. I have seen two schools of good size salmon at fishies beach as well, managed to spear one but he got off.

Good work steve, I agree whiting are damn hard to get close to, I've only speared 1 in many years of diving. Leatherjackets are good easy fish to spear, and very tasty too.

Keep us updated.

Cheers

Thanks Jazman, I dived at Fishies beach boatramp and there are plenty of garfish in the small bay next to fishies on the south side. speared 2x 25 cm

salmon today,

whiting in close

near end of carpark at ramp, lots of weed though.

leatherjackets must be easy to spear as I have not seen many in 4 days of diving.

regards Steve.
