Cape Cod Canal Squidding

Anyone been squidding in the Canal lately? I might hit it tonight just to see if they're there... but wondering if anyone else has

No but I hear their are some very large squid moved into the Bay so there's a

good chance they may visit the canal,  fish (bluefin tuna) may chase them into

the canal also.  On the other note GI in newport is red hot again.

Well, the bad news is, it looks like the lights are not even on - and of course, I didn't think to bring my LED lights since I thought there'd be light... So I tried Woods Hole... same thing there, dock lights were off... and then I tried Hyannis Port - no squid...

 

So last night was a bust...

Last week went to willows and saw 2 squid caught in about one hour.  Left there

and went to beverly and there were more folks squidding there but only saw a

very few in buckets and none caught while I was there for about 45 mins.  On the

other hand there where only 5 people at willows and at beverly about 25.  Been very

busy repairing and painting my house so haven't been getting out much.  Sold my

big boat and am looking for an 18' CC that I can trailer.   Now that summer vacation is

over for most it should be a little less crowded.  It's going to be a great fall season as

long as mom nature doesn't mess it up.

Anthony has been awfully quiet for a while, hope all is OK but it's probably

because his freezer and all his friends freezers are full.

just heard from a friend that bass he caught in front of canal today had whole squid in their stomachs. how about p-town harbor this time of year?

Went to the canal the last three nights and did ok... about 25 squid the first night, 20 the 2nd and 24 last night.. - mostly big tubes!. - fished about 2-4 hours each night...

 

Get out there - but bring a light - cuz the canal lights are off.
