Pretty cool Glen.
Never saw a commercial squid boat, at least in my part of the States.

I've seen a few shows on Global Village on squid fishing boats in japan and they are rigged much the same with enough light power to melt the sun and jig machines right down both sides of the vessel.
in japan they leave port before dark and steam out to where they think they will be thickest and start the gear running.
not a great deal comes aboard untill later in the night but then all hell breaks loose and squid are flying over the side like lightning and soon enough the deck is knee deep with squid and all they have to do is start shovelling it into fish bins/trays and stack them in the centre of the boat and watch as more and more squid come flying over the side and onto the deck.
it's quite amazing to watch and to think that there are so many bloody squid there as there are about 40 or so boats scattered all around the area and thats just from that port alone...boats everywhere and sheet loads of squid.

make squid your friend...then bag them
