Hi all,
I am a new member from Brisbane Queensland. Since I was a young boy I have always been squiding around Peel Island (Moreton Bay). I have been in Cairns for the past 4 years and now back in Brisbane, yesterday I went to my old spots around Peel Island and gigged for squid, not one not a single squid or cuttle fish all day. Some old fishing mates of mine have told me that they have not caught squid or cuttlefish around Peel Island for years and I didn't believe them, I am still shocked and amazed with this, is anyone aware of this and if so what is the reason......I would love to know and or where are all the squid in Moreton Bay.
Thanks look forward in being part of this great site.

Hello Claud
I too am trying to work out where the squid are in Moreton Bay. I managed to get one today (Pencil Squid) in Waterloo Bay west from St Helena Island, but had no interest at all after that.

Thanks ... Wazza

brizzy boy myself Wakerley to be exact and catch plenty of squid landbased , august is prime time for catching big tigers but they can be caught all year round if you know where to look.
I'm going to start looking at my favourite spot real soon and it's right under everyones nose.

went for a look today but didn't see a squid of any sort as the cold snap has pissed them off untill the next wind change which should be soon......will have to check the forecasts to make sure.
but I have been kicking ass up untill now with scores up to 25.

Had planned to fish for snapper Friday morning but changed it to Sat. Drifted the northern side of Mud out wide for one snapper and three tuskies plus throw backs. happy with that.

Hi guys, am a newbee to this site but from what I can tell it has a wealth of info. I just bought my first squid jig today!! was out looking for new spots to fish around Raby Bay area when I bumped in to a couple of fellas who were squid fishing, had never even thought about squid fishing b4, so off I went to K-mart n got myself a jig. Have noticed on this site that Raby Bay canels are a good spot, well thats my local fishing spot, so gonna give the squid a go on sat/sun. will get back to ya n let ya know how I go. <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blueboxbullet.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':th' />
