Hundreds of dead man-sized Humboldt squid normally found in the the tropics have been washing up on the beaches from Port Hardy to the Queen Charlotte Islands, to Alaska.
Others are being caught by commercial and sport fishermen.
Some of the squid corpses have been sent for examination to the Royal BC Museum in Victoria.
Jim Cosgrove, the museum's natural history manager, doesn't understand why the monsters are here for a second year in a row but thinks it's another sign of global warming.
