Forum Upgrades

Hi everyone,



I am writing just to let you know that soon (maybe today) i will be upgrading the forum software so there may be some outages.

hi guys, the forum upgrades are still in progress but the main changes are complete <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':th' />



i will explain the main differences as soon as everything is working 100%....please report any strange site behaviour to me.

thanks AK. i thought a color change might freshen things up a bit. i still have some work to tweak things here and there but have not had any time today. one of the new features will be a photo/video gallery once i figure out how it works!!! <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />



also, the way you go about editing messages will be different once I make a few more changes, it will be sort of like writing in Microsoft Word (i.e a rich text editor) where you can easily make text bold or large or a different color very easily. <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/xyxthumbs.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':th' />



another change is that topics can now be "rated" with up to 5 stars if they are found to be helpful.

Hi everyone,



One of the new features of the upgraded forum is a [color="#ff0000"]Rich[/color] [color="#33cc00"]Text[/color][color="#3333ff"] Editor[/color] that allows you to more easily edit your posts in the forum.



To turn it ON, you can go to -->



My Controls > Options > Board Settings > Posting Settings >



...and change "Type of text editor to use when posting" to [color="#ff6600"]"Rich Text Editor"[/color]



The reason it is not turned on by default is because it won't work with old browsers..you need either Internet Explorer 6 (IE6), Mozilla or Firefox (not sure about Opera).

I will just mention briefly that I have added a few new images and video to the photo gallery. I am mainly just getting used to how it works. The admin controls behind the scenes are a bit complicated!



Members can create their your own photo albums too. If you do decide to do this, please keep the images tasteful! This is a family website <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
