Hi Guys,
Been a while since i last posted something on calamary fishing...
I just flew back to Tassie to continue my studies and on the second day of touch-down, i went for the promised squidding trip which was highly anticipated(Summer is calamary season)...
Went off in early morning and upon reaching the location, it started to rain.... Waited for 40 mins....Then, another mishap happened, the Uni boat which we towed for 45 mins refused to co-operate at the boat ramp after numerous attempt to recify the problem.... <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/crying.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
After deciding not to take the boat out, my mate Andy parked the car+boat and we carried our tackles to the nearby Pilot Station for a try as i have previously landed calamaries but at night-time thou... <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
We started off with 2 calamries caught on Exori squid jigs....And walked to another laction to carry on... which i landed another 2 on the same jig. My mate tried using the tentacles for bait-fishing as he declared he has got no luck on calamaries...and got for himself a fattie... <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/xyxthumbs.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
All-in-all, a good day despite a bad start....
And we saw the resident ray again...patrolling its ground...no pics on that thou...
Will try our luck on calamaries tommorrow again...with the boat this time...
Cheers.
