Hi Guys,

Been a while since i last posted something on calamary fishing...

I just flew back to Tassie to continue my studies and on the second day of touch-down, i went for the promised squidding trip which was highly anticipated(Summer is calamary season)...

Went off in early morning and upon reaching the location, it started to rain.... Waited for 40 mins....Then, another mishap happened, the Uni boat which we towed for 45 mins refused to co-operate at the boat ramp after numerous attempt to recify the problem.... <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/crying.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

After deciding not to take the boat out, my mate Andy parked the car+boat and we carried our tackles to the nearby Pilot Station for a try as i have previously landed calamaries but at night-time thou... <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Sad' />

We started off with 2 calamries caught on Exori squid jigs....And walked to another laction to carry on... which i landed another 2 on the same jig. My mate tried using the tentacles for bait-fishing as he declared he has got no luck on calamaries...and got for himself a fattie... <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/xyxthumbs.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

All-in-all, a good day despite a bad start....

And we saw the resident ray again...patrolling its ground...no pics on that thou...

Will try our luck on calamaries tommorrow again...with the boat this time...

Cheers.

Vince.... <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':thumbsup2:' />

Hi Glen,

I don't think it is....If it is, i reckon it would be much more expensive than what i paid..

I think these Exori Squid jigs are made in either Taiwan or China....They are amost an exact copy of the Shrimp-hunter...

Hi Guys,

Will be my second CR on calamary fishing since yesterday...

Went off in early morning and upon reaching the location, wasted no time in lowering the Uni boat and paddled to the location.... (was after much exhausting paddling against the rising tide and the wind!)

Received many weird looks from other folks as they saw 3 jokers paddling a boat with an OBM mounted..

Today, we tested the 2 squid jigs(Yamashita & a Bali made jig) and caught bigger calamries...... <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

My mates Andy and Ray also tried taking turns to lure with the jigs...

All-in-all, i landed 7 calamaries (on Yamashita), Andy 1 (on Bali made jig)and Ray 0.... <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

And then we saw the resident ray again as we were hualing the boat up the ramp.....no pics again on that...So sorry. <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Sad' />

Will try our luck on calamaries again soon...with the boat's Out Board Motor fixed this time...

Cheers,

Vince. <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':thumbsup2:' />
