Squidding around Mystery Bay/Narooma

I'm taking the family down camping to Mystery Bay over Xmas. My 10 year old son prefers to fish with lures rather than bait (much like myself). Thought it would be easiest to just target squid while we're down there. Are there any good (safe) spots where we can go and target squid down there? Preferably closer to Mystery Bay as possible, but can travel a little bit, say towards Narooma, or a short distance further south.

 

Any areas where we're not allowed to fish? I couldn't see any close to Mystery bay on the DPI/marine parks websites, but in case I missed something...
