Hey everyone, I have been checking out your site for some time and have decided to give this squid jiggin a try. I would love a little info if you dont mind. I will be on a boat in area 7, december 16th 2006. my course will be blain harbor to sucia island then to stuart island and back. I will be spending the night so evening jigging will be possible. my questions are what do I use to jig and what areas are good. I am also very interested in octopus anybody got any news on that. Thank you for any info and I will re-post my results of the trip.

I don't have any specific information for squid in your area, but they are likely around. Boat fishing I think can be more productive, and squid are generally a bit more agressive than around the piers. I would recommend the 1 - 1.5oz size jigs (we have a good selection, just see our Puget Sound Squid Jigs section on our website).
For octopus, I think it's best to be around some sort of structure, gives the octopus places to hunt for food, also holes for them to crawl into. So rocky bottom, or submerged jetty areas are best. We also have jigs for those (See the attached picture). Round head style mostly for vertical jigging, the one with the immitation crab is meant more for dragging along the bottom. Thanks for the info Jon. I just purchased a handfull of jigs from your web site. I cant wait to try them out. I see you are out of stock on the luminated squid lures how long till you get more in?
