Here is a photo of my last(I mean last I'm too old for the beasties)Big Shark. It was caught on a rigged 5# bonita,12/0 circle hooks,12' of 400# steel leader and 9/0 115L Penn Senator loaded with a 1000 yards of 80# testline Dacron. The Bait was drifted off the end of the Dan Russell Fishing pier(Panama City beach,Florida,USA) on a low spring tide after Dark. The hookup was at 3 am with 3 "easy" 750 yard runs!It took 5 men,a rope and 45 minutes to pull it up on the pier! The pier landing is the dangerous part..it was mad and tail sweeps on that size of a shark can break a leg! This photo was taken at 7am,hours after Bleed & gut alive! (Oh,the Shark is long dead in the photo. That is me holding the tail at a 4" thickness!)

The Nurse Shark was 150# cleaned and 6 1/2' long!My Thai in laws(to the left of the photo)had a Barbie with it(along with the 2 Dozen Mangrove Snappers they had also caught during the night). Here is a photo of my Thai granddaughter playing tag! Memories of 7/2001 are good ones !
