hi love a squid,

welcome aboard! and thanks for mentioning those squid fishing spots in NSW. We really need a bit more NSW squidding info. Do you tend to catch mostly southern calamary or arrow squid?

All the best, Glen <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/xyxthumbs.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':woot:' />

Gday Glen thanks 4 the reply <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/xyxthumbs.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':ink' /> . Yes, we mainly get the southern calamari, dont no of any arrow squid being available in nsw waters. Been squidin for about 20 years and hate to tell you most are used for jewies or kingies top bait <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/xyxthumbs.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':ink' /> , but it can get a bit fiesty on board as i do love a feed of calamari. Jigs are primarily used, the suspending of little bait keepers i find rarely works. Like i said before have fished for them both landbased and in a boat of course. There r heaps of top spots available around sydney, if things r permissable will fish every arvo usually for a week or more in a row. Times vary because the squid always seem to be around, if u cant find em they r there but deeper. Favourite jig: anything pink. Why because it beats all other colours BUT that is my opinion. Please if i can help in any way dont hesitate to ask <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/beer_mug.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':woot:' />

hi love a squid,

you are more likely to catch the arrow squid in a boat because they hang around in deeper water typically. they have shorter wings so you won't miss them. they are also more likely to bite you too!

if you have any more info on specific squid fishing spots in NSW that would be very welcome.

cheers, glen <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/xyxthumbs.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':woot:' />
