Found tons of them.... offshore
#1
I just came back from a offshore trip ~180 miles east of Montauk, NY and found patches of squid on top water during day time. They were not hitting any jigs at all when we throw at them. Also found a bunch at the bottom approx. ~500+ feet down on the bottom snatching onto our bait and we reeled them up.

Why aren't they close to shore and piers?

Did a few weekends to the pier and not finding them.

They live most of their short lives offshore. They only come inshore to breed and die.
