Bogue Traps
#1
Can someone please give me a good mixture to use as bait in bogue traps?! On the internet I found that all you have to use is bread mashed with fine-powdered beans but i also heard that some small fish included in the mixture (e.g. mackerel, sardine, anchovy) could prove itself to be very useful. What do you think?!

Quote:Bogue traps are made of strips of cane and are baited with balls of bean flour laced with essence of salted herring, whilst octopus traps are made of metal wire and are baited mainly with mackerel and pieces of larger fish.

I think that they are actually called bogue pots but the idea is to trap bogue. I don't know if you know what bogue is. I will therefore attach 2 pictures.. one of a bogue pot and one of a bogue fish. The info you found is basically what I was looking for so thanks a lot <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup2.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />
