Japanese Film the Capture of First Giant Squid
|
Quote:TOKYO, Japan (AP) -- A Japanese research team has succeeded in filming a giant squid live -- possibly for the first time -- and says the elusive creatures may be more plentiful than previously believed, a researcher said Friday. This is not much bigger than the humboldts caught off the USA but the potential is there to catch bigger ones! Up to 60 feet long! wow! <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Thanks for the link BPM. <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/xyxthumbs.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> cheers, glen
Hi everyone,
Here is some more video footage of the giant squid that was caught by Japanese researchers: mms://telegraph.wmod.llnwd.net/a689/o1/TELEGRAPH_SQUID_22.wmv http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml...2/usquid122.xml The squid, some 24ft long, was captured earlier this month in the Pacific, 600 miles south of Tokyo. Also, here are a couple of photos of the squid. Cheers, Glen |
