What is the maximum body weight of


  • Red Flying Squid or Neon Flying Squid, [color="#ff8c00"]Ommastrephes bartramii[/color]; or

  • Other [color="#2e8b57"]OMMASTREPHES SPP?[/color]

I'm not sure about mass, but their mantle length reaches about a foot. Humboldt squid (Dosidicus gigas) are also Ommatrephes and can reach 50 pounds and 6 feet in mantle length. They are becoming more common along the Pacific coasts of North and South America.
