Going by the size of the squid and they way they're dressed, I'd say that its spring. In which case the second squid was the first one's mate. If I remember correctly the second is the female. The male has stopped acting 'normaly' and so she sees him as food <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ohmy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':th' />



If you come across a pair, try to catch the female first. The male will follow and you can catch him too, if you're quick. If you catch the male first, she will either attack or leave him for dead and you'll only get the one.
