i had a meeting on Tuesday this week and was going to be 5 mins from the pier so i loaded up my gear and off to to t town i went.
i was dismayed to find the dock all but empty. last year there were people # in the teens on the pier a lessdavis but found 2 people and the only thing hooked was the woper we exchanged of passed years.
i found the water clarity muddy due to the rain we have just been blessed with but the power is on.
remember 2000 people per side eny more and the brakers blow and the city will tern them back on after pigs fly if u catch my drift. i will be back out there tonight and give it a go again
hi john. its bob.
ps i did see some nice pic of deep sea squid out of west port tuna charter on the 6th of September

[quote name='Julesong' post='12284' date='Jul 14 2008, 04:51 AM']I'm also down Tacoma way a lot, so I'd be very interested to know about the jigging spots out there! <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='

I think the most popular squid jigging spot in Tacoma would be the Les Davis pier. Summer squid are in now at Redondo, but I havne't heard anything recently on Tacoma area.

Winter season generally starts middle of October. You can catch them now as well for the summer squid. I haven't heard any reports for Les Davis pier, but Redondo and Bremerton have been doing fairly well.

The best pier there is there "Passenger Ferry Dock". I haven't been there since they put in the new docks, but hear it is very nice. There is also power available to bring your own lights to attract the squid. In order to plug into the outlets, you need a 30 Amp plug adapter.
I just had some customers stop in this afternoon that have been fishing there, sounds like they are doing well.
Good Luck!!!

I went twice last week to les davis. Didn't run into huge numbers but the squid were 6"-10" (not too bad). Probably gonna go this week, see if it has improved. It is a little warm yet but, still should be okay.
