Obtaining Complete Squid?

I am new to this site, and perhaps this is an odd question. I am trying to find 16 complete squid for a class science dissection project. I live in Nanaimo, B.C. on Vancouver Island. The local fish stores tell me that it is not possible to get complete squid as they are so delicate that they are all processed by the time they reach the stores. Does anyone know of how I could get some complete squid (they do not need to be large- they are for youngsters grades 4-7) to dissect and look for ink sacs. I could drive down to Victoria if that is a good place. Or are they sold whole in China town in Vancouver? Would prefer not to have to go over the ferry if there are any locations on the island where they are for sale.

HI Isobel,

I think any of the asian seafood marts should be able to take care of you. Most of the squid they sell should be whole, and not-processed. They prefer it that way!!!!
