3. Why do I have to login?

The requirement to login is simply to help us to better control who can post material on the website. We are a family friendly website and so it is important that we can block undesirable characters.

4. How do I get a login to Squidfish.net?

You are given a login username and password when you become a squidfish member.

Being a member has many benefits. These include:

- Being able to post questions and comments in the squidfish forum;

- Easily keeping track of responses to your questions or comments;

- Easily keeping track of new topics and discussions;

- Being able to write private messages to other Squidfish members;

- Plus every member gets their own free photo gallery for posting their fishing photos!

Membership is absolutely free.

Step 1. To sign up, simply click on the "Register" link at the top of the page.

Step 2. Agree to the website Terms & Rules by ticking the box at the bottom of the screen.

Step 3. Click on the "Register" link to continue.

Step 4. Enter your details.

Step 5. Click on "Submit my registration".

Step 6. Check your email for instructions on the next step. Basically all you have to do is click on a link in the email that we send you, and it will validate your membership.

Step 7. Then you can login and start enjoying your free Squidfish membership!!

5. How can membership to such a wonderful website be free? Is this a scam?

This website is mainly run as a hobby of Glen, the Admin. Glen enjoys building websites. Call him crazy, but he does this stuff for fun!

6. Why do you want my email address with my "free" membership? Are you a nasty spammer?

The reason an email address is requested is to stop spammers filling up the Squidfish.net website with rubbish material (e.g. porn, links to Viagra salesmen etc). It allows us to ban people from the Squidfish.net website if they act inappropriately. This is an important measure to protect the website and keep it family friendly. We are not spammers! Feel free to use a "throw away" email address like a hotmail or a yahoo account when you register. It is good practice to use a second email address for this sort of online registration anyway.
