Ahoy me hearties.
The missus and I will be down at Phillip island in a couple o' weeks for a weekend away and I was wonderin' if any o' you knew of good spots to surf fish or flounder down that way.
Fresh air, tight lines, scales, slime and fins, 'tis the salty sea dog life for me. Arrrgh!

hi pirate! ah hoi!
i like fishing at red point. it is about a half hour walk. i never catch much more than parrot fish but I like the spot just the same. it is about a half hour walk from the woolamai surf beach car park. you walk through to the "other side" of the island...and then along the beach. the last few hundred metres are quite hard walking and there is some unstable ground with rabbit burrows or something like that (maybe mutton bird burrows??). anyway, watch your step.
otherwise the surf fishing off woolamai is OK. i never did any floundering down there.
cheers, glen

Haargh...Nay me hearty. There have been so many good chances gone begging 'cause we've been busy when the conditions have been good.
Anyway now that the wife has the fishing bug, hopefully there'll be many more briny adventures....Haaargh.
