I've had some close calls but not after I made a little landing net to stop the near misses
I reckon they would take a clean chunk out of you if they did bite you.
mug
make squid your friend...then bag them

Yeah I've had some try to pull my fingers in but no bites as yet. I'm sure it'll happen one day though.

So many people get bitten buy fish when landing them or holding them, i guess alot more people are fishing for squid rather than squid.

I've been bitten by a small octopus, hurts like hell, and you bleed a lot. Do not try.

Squid are quite agressive and will bit at just about anything....getting bitten by a calamari is another issue altogether.
You would have to be a fair idiot to get bitten by a southern calamari!!
Cheers
Blue.

this Occy stealing the video camera off a diver could have been a very nasty bite or two.

I'd run some pouting on a bait jig under a float, you'd clean up if your losing heaps because of the treble hooks...

Wow!! I want, I want...... We get robbed on imported squidding gear in the UK. A stainless standard spike with two rows of needles at the bottom, £3.95. Does that sound right to you?
