Settig Up For Squidding
#1
Hi All, new to the forum.

Just wanted opinions on the best rod and reel combo to use for squidding. I currently only have nibble tip type rods and although they do the job, they seem to be too flexible and not quite suited to the task. Does anyone have ideas on what would be best to use??? Will mainly be used from jetties. Obviously an eggbeater reel will suit the purpose.

I would also like some advice on using a float. I currently suspend the jig about 1-1.5m under a float. This seems to work ok but makes it hard when landing the squid over the edge of the jetty as you can only obviously wind it up to the float.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thankyou
