Mount Gambier, Sa
#1
Hiya, I live in Mount Gambier (South East S.A) and was wondering what the best squid fishing hot spots are? The nearest Beach is Port Mac but we also have alot of rivers and lakes,

I am just starting Squidding and this would be my first time... Anyone live near Mount Gambier? Were should I fish and what should I do?

Just thought I'd add some info,

I will be using an un-baited Green 3.5 Jig on a 9lb Line,

Any help would be good as I am new to this.

Thanks

9lb line should be perfect, and the 3.5 size jag is the best in my opinion. Try Rapid Bay Jetty or Victor Harbour.

Melbourne and Adelaide are roughly the same distance from Mount Gambier,

And to go to Victor Harbor without going on the Ferry we would have to drive on the freeway Through Adelaide and then back down to Victor,

And we would have 1 or 2 rest stops, So if it takes 7 hours from Melbourne and Adelaide is roughly the same distance in the opposite direction and we travel through Adelaide then it would probably take longer then going from Melbourne to Mount Gambier.

I live in Mount Gambier, I used to live in Adelaide and have been there once a year since I left, I have also been to Victor Harbor and have relatives there... I know how long it takes.
