Landed an 8ft+ squid in Elliott Bay, Seattle, WA this afternoon. Fishing for salmon with 2 oz lead jig...was already dead. Gave to Dept of Fish and Wildlife. Any idea species?

Looks like a Humboldt Squid. I've heard of the occasional one caught in the Straights.... Could be a few around the inner sound areas.
