Does anyone know how to squid as im a newbie looking for hints and tips



Wats type of hooks should i use -

26 gauge?

28 gauge?

40 gauge?

56 gauge?



i dont have a clue as i call myself 'the amatuer'

i have picked up some helpful tricks of the trade from the Master Matty Trez

but over the years he has lost his form

so any help would be much apreciated

and also give us an add

I have no idea what those hook gauges mean. Squid jigs in size 2.0 work well for me <img src='http://www.squidfish.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

Are Size 3.0 Squid Jigs too big to be used on Kelongs ?

Hi Glenn, i have used Size 2.0 in Malaysian Waters using Pioneer Squid Jig and i have caught many using it. Thanks for your advice ...

I mainly gone through 3.5 size but will go down to 2.5 in autumn or up to 4.0 in spring.
