The thing that pisses me off is the commercial guys are allowed 14" fish. They get more money for the bigger ones so they often cull out the smaller fish. It makes for alot of waste.
I personally wish it were at 17 or 18" but I should be able to put enough on the table at 20" I don't freeze fish so as long as I'm catching and get a few for the table I'm happy. Will probably do more black sea bass fishing this summer as well. Right now all I can think about are those squid!! Snaildarter[/quote]
Exactly why i get pissed at the regs. They allow the draggers to dessimate the population, then put restrictions on the recreational fisherman. Oh well, it seems they just keep raising the size but every year I still manage to do well. If they go any bigger than 20" , we're gonna have to start throwing whole giant squid to weed through the shorts. I hear ya about having your thoughts on the squid. This weekend is opening day of trout season which is a yearly tradition for my family and friends. We always gather up a huge group of ppl and head out to this trout management area. It's like fishing for the retarded but it kinda signifies that "squidding isn't far away" so it gets me excited.
