Purple people are not more likely to be pigs then any other color.



Consider this: If you are in a place where 90% of the people are purple and 10% of the people are pigs, then it stands to reason that :

1) 9 people out of 100 will be pigs and purple, and

2) 91 out of 100 purple people will not be pigs, and

3)1 other color person out of 100 will be a pig, and

4) 91 out of 100 other colored people will not be pigs.



That does not mean that purple people are more likely to be pigs then people of other colors. It means they are equally likely to be pigs as are people of other colors. GET IT?! (Yankee fans may be a different story though)



Let's try it with apples and pears; Johnny buys 10 bushels of apples and one bushel of pears. When he sorts them he finds that he has 1000 apples and 100 pears. He also finds that he has 100 rotten apples and only 10 rotten pears. Does anyone here think this means apples are more likely to be rotten?
