I was fishing at GI bridge from 5pm on Thursday until 3am, snf caught 185 squids!!
I started catching squids right away but stopped from 5:30 til 8pm.
I had good action from 8pm til 10pm but stopped 10pm until 11pm due to slack tide. The it came back again until I stopped fishing at 3am.
During outgoing tide, the squids were a bit off the bottom and I had to lift the jig a bit to have good action.
I was debating myself whether I should stop and get some sleep or fish until bite stops for several hours....
I finally gave up at 3am while they are still biting.
Somewhat most of squids are female (Smaller and round shape). Males (Large and shapes like arrow) occasionally came to hug my jigs. Usually, males show up first and females follow.
My friend went to Greenport last night as well, and it wasn't good. There are only 10-20 people out there and each only caught 0-5 squids.......
>NeverBlanked,
I really feel your pain. There are so many people who do not consider others. They steal your spot while you untangle your line or so. They even cast jigs over the people. They throw garbages.........
I guess they take fishing a way too serious like their business (May be they sell squids?). For me, fishing is one of my recreational activities.
Anyway, I'm glad I could sneak out my work and enjoy the "Can't stop jigging" time without much of crowds.
I'll try fishing on Frances next weekend due to chaotic crowd.
